- I keep watching and sometimes responding to all this 'crap' from you and
- Peter Sinclair-Day. I have one very important question for you ...
-
-
- who cares?
-
- We care about the Amiga and what it is today and what Amiga Technologies is
- making it into. I personally don't care if the Mac or a clone take 10 megs
- or 3 megs to run a program. I just don't EVER want the Amiga to take that
- much ram to run the same thing or something similar. I happen to like the
- smaller OS footprint. I happen to like the lack of ram needs the Amiga has.
- I happen to enjoy the look and feel that my 3000 has.
-
- Is my 3000 faster than a Power Mac or a PPC clone? Who cares? It is fast
- enough to do everything I want it to do at a speed I like.
-
- If you want to compare systems, let's look at something 'useful':
-
- (1) Let's compare ram needs for similar system usage?
- (2) Let's compare the 'look and feel' of the platforms to the users.
- (3) Let's compare the pd/shareware software scene. Who has the most
- industrious and ambitious software shareware/pd developers?
- (4) Let's compare programs with similar uses like PhotoShop and ImageFX.
- (5) Let's compare OS bloat.
- (6) Let's compare the intelligence of the user base and the ability to make
- choices by the user.
- (7) Let's comapre the individuality of the Amiga vs the similarity of all
- clone/Mac machines.
- (8) Which platform has the most sincere, most tenacious commercial
- hardware/software developers?
- (9) What computer maker is MOST inclined to give people searching for
- individuality in computing a platform that gives them that
- freedom of choice?
- (10) Let's compare user friendliness of the systems and ease of
- hardware/software upgrading?
-
-
- In short, wake up guys! You both either already KNOW the things I'm talking
- about and have been avoiding them like the plague or you are so lost in the
- grunge of 'being like evryone else' that you have lost the thing that could
- give you credibility here ... the ability to make an intelligent choice.
